Maricopa County Among 8 Counties Selected by NACo for National Career Success Program

NACo Career Success Program

The Maricopa County Human Services Department is pleased to announce its selection by the National Association of Counties (NACo) for participation in the prestigious 2023 C4CS - Counties for Career Success program. This recognition highlights Maricopa County's commitment to providing the best opportunities for career advancement and workforce development for its residents.

The C4CS program, established by NACo, recognizes and supports counties across the United States that excel in creating environments conducive to career success. Maricopa County was selected as one of the few counties nationwide to be part of this distinguished initiative.

Maricopa County Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Clint Hickman, District 4, expressed his appreciation of this achievement. "We are proud and honored that the efforts in Maricopa County to develop meaningful career opportunities for our workforce are being recognized on a national level,” Chairman Hickman stated. “We believe that investing in career development and success is an investment in our residents, our economy, and in our community’s employers, ensuring that we have a continuous pipeline of skilled workers."

The Maricopa County Human Services Department (HSD) provides a variety of career development services to county residents, including workforce development, job training, and employment opportunities. Most recently, HSD also provided support services to help displaced workers find new positions after a large layoff affected information technology workers in the East Valley. Across the country, eight counties were chosen for the initiative that recognizes the crucial role counties play in streamlining pathways to higher education and employment.

NACo's C4CS year-long program offers participating counties the opportunity to network with peers, share best practices, participate in discussions with national subject matter experts, visit successful programs in peer communities, and receive valuable resources to enhance career development initiatives.

Other counties selected for the 2023-2024 C4CS cohort include:

  • Douglas County, Nebraska
  • Hamilton County, Tennessee
  • Honolulu, Hawai’i
  • Howard County, Maryland
  • Lancaster County, Nebraska
  • Saratoga County, New York
  • Warren County, Ohio
