[ARCHIVED] Mask Regulation No Longer in Effect in Maricopa County

Maricopa County and COVID-19

The countywide mask regulation approved by the Board of Supervisors in June 2020 is no longer in effect.  When Governor Ducey signed Executive Order 2021-06 on March 25, 2021, it nullified Maricopa County’s mask mandate so it is no longer enforceable except in county buildings.  Maricopa County Public Health regularly updates the Board of Supervisors and County leadership on key data related to the spread of COVID-19 and the vaccination rate of residents.  At this time, Maricopa County continues to require masks for employees and the public inside County facilities.

The pandemic is not over.  Public Health continues to encourage proven preventive measures such as wearing masks in public places, maintaining six feet of distance from people not in your immediate household, and avoiding large gatherings where you will have a greater risk of exposure.  These measures reduce the risk of getting and spreading COVID-19.

Public Health makes COVID-19 data public available.  You can learn about the current level of COVID-19 spread in your city, ZIP code, or school district by visiting Maricopa.gov/SchoolDashboard.  You can monitor the percentage of people vaccinated in Maricopa County at Maricopa.gov/COVID19VaccineData.
