Work on the Riggs Road corridor projects have been completed.

Project Overview

The Riggs Road Corridor is one of MCDOT’s longest corridor projects, incorporating five projects along one corridor. In partnership with the Towns of Gilbert and Queen Creek, the seven plus mile corridor will create new travel and turn lanes, drainage modifications and traffic safety upgrades.

Connected Projects

Recker Road to Power Road (TT0429): This project widened Riggs Road to a uniform 5 lanes with curb and gutter on both sides of the road. New travel and turn lanes were added and drainage modifications were completed. Completed Fall 2017

Power Road to Hawes Road (TT0406): This project widened Riggs Road to a uniform 5 lanes with curb and gutter on both sides of the road. New travel and turn lanes were added and drainage modifications were completed. This project was completed with an agreement between the County and the Town of Queen Creek. Completed Fall 2018

Hawes Road to Ellsworth Road (TT0375): This project widened Riggs Road to four lanes and improved drainage. Completed Fall 2016

Ellsworth Road to Crismon Road (TT0251): This project designed a three-lane section of Riggs Road between Ellsworth Road and Crismon Road to increase capacity. The project also includes drainage improvements on the north side of Riggs Road as well as sidewalk, curb and gutter. Completed Winter 2018

Crismon Road to Meridian Road (TT0538): The Town of Queen Creek coordinated the construction of improvements to this unpaved section of Riggs Road from Crismon Road to Meridian Road. The project included constructing a three-lane road and improving the existing intersection of Riggs Road and Rittenhouse road to meet capacity needs. Completed Summer 2019
