Lessons and Curricula
Overweight and obesity are leading health concerns among our nation’s children, but students and families are receiving very little education on nutrition and physical activity. This page provides fun and engaging presentations, lesson plans, interactive learning and recipes for students and families that will give them guidance on how to make healthier lifestyle choices. All lessons are created from evidence-based sources by registered dietitian nutritionist and support Arizona’s College and Career Ready Standards. Use these lessons to spread the word about the benefits of nutrition and physical activity so that students and families can make better, informed decisions about living healthier lives!

Fruit and Vegetables Make Me Smile!Fruit and Vegetables Make Me Smile! talks about the different fruits and vegetables and the many forms in which they come. It introduces Vitamins A and C, the digestive system, and how much fruits and vegetables kids need to stay healthy. The lesson ends with details on where these foods grow. |

The lesson introduces the nutrients Calcium and Vitamin D and why these nutrients are good for us. Lactose intolerance and other ways to get these key nutrients are discussed.
