High Quality Early Education Leads to Success in the Workforce

A new survey from the Council for a Strong America, a national, bipartisan non-profit, shows that high quality early childhood education provides the social and emotional skills that employers value most in their employees. Research has shown that the character skills formed in early childhood are associated with outcomes impacting the workforce. Children provided with high quality early childhood education were 54% more likely than their peers to earn a high school diploma, twice as likely to graduate from college, and 46% more likely to have a full-time job at age 25. For more information, read the entire report here.

The Maricopa County Human Services Department provides early childhood education through our Head Start program. For locations and more information visit this section of our website: Maricopa County Head Start.
